Too Busy Building to Blog!

I think the title of this blog says it ALL! Steve and I are soooo exhausted, but soooo excited that the end is in sight! Here is the progress that we've made on our house so far.......

This is the most wood floor that Steve has laid......it is gorgeous!
(Approx 1,300 square feet)

Once the wood was laid, it was time to fill all of the holes. And boy there were a
lot of holes to fill! After the holes were filled it was time to sand,
and sand, and sand and sand some more!

Then we had to vacuum up all, and I do mean ALL, of the sawdust!

Steve was so excited to stain the floor.

The finished product! Beautiful huh!?!?!

My brother-in-law was nice enough to let Steve use his mini-ex
for some excavating we needed to do in the yard. You should have
seen him.....he was like a kid on Christmas morning!

Then it was time for the finish work......lots and lots of finish work!
(Keep in mind...Steve did all of this finish trim)

This is the dining room and part of the kitchen.

*we are going for the craftsman look with the paneling and fancy headers*

The stairs.....view from the front door.
I am so grateful for Steve and his construction knowledge!

Not only have we been building our house, but I am also 'building' our little one. I am currently 17 1/2 weeks along and am so excited to be pregnant! I'm still at that stage where sometimes I just look chubby rather than pregnant, but again I couldn't be happier!

Here are a few pictures of my growing belly.....it's ok if you think I just look chubby.....it's just a matter of time till I am ginormous and wishing I was back at this stage!

Hope you enjoyed the 'tour'......paint will be done this Saturday and the driveway, porch cap, front walk and patio will all be laid this weekend also. We are hoping to move in around July 13th. Things are moving!

Well I don't even know where to begin. Wow! I think the belly is the most exciting (that's saying a lot knowing how much I heart construction projects). Woo Hoo! Next most impressive--the finish work. Steve, are you freaking kidding me? YOU rock the finish work too? Is there anything you can't do? Ooh, and I love the stairs and railing (betcha mom's excited that it's safe to venture upstairs now, ha ha). That wood floor makes all the difference. When you get a finished wood floor put in a construction zone it changes the entire look of things, doesn't it? Love the stain on the floor too. I wish beech took stain better. Beech stained looks like oak. I think all guys have that same reaction to operating heavy machinery--must take tham back to their preschool days of driving big trucks around in the sandbox. So so excited for you guys! Can't wait to see the finished product (and you) in real life!

I can't believe it's been so long since I've been at the house. It looks great! And you don't look chubby at all, that is definitely a baby belly.
